After a thorough and collaborative needs assessment with the Mungu community, it was evident that lower than average literacy levels existed for women. This prompted MIGHTi to initiate adult literacy classes for Mungu women at no cost to them. So far 80 local women have enrolled in our weekly literacy courses. We are currently in our first session, running from May through August, with plans to offer continuous sessions here on out.

These classes not only provide a safe space for women to further their skills, but also achieve education goals they may not have been able to before. We will offering participants the ability to take high school level exams at the end of the course and proceed to more advanced levels, at a low cost.
